Introduction: The use of menopausal hormone therapy remains the Achilles’ heel in daily clinical
practice. Since the publication of the WHI study, there was a decrease in the use
of hormone therapy. In recent years, this study has been reevaluated and new position
statements on hormone therapy have been published from the main scientific societies.
However, in Spain, this publications have not translated into an increase in prescription
as could be expected. Consequently, the number of treated women is very low.
